Kat Ludwig, MA, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist • Executive Director • Founder
Helping people understand the relationships they're creating—and the ones they're longing for.
For nearly two decades, Kat has helped individuals and couples untangle painful relationship patterns, navigate major life transitions, and rebuild trust in themselves and others. Her work blends warmth, directness, and deep clinical expertise to help clients move beyond survival and into healthier, more intentional ways of relating.
Therapy should help you understand yourself—not simply feel better for an hour.
Relationships rarely fall apart because of one conversation.
More often, they reflect patterns that have quietly developed over years—patterns shaped by family, attachment, loss, conflict, and the ways we've learned to protect ourselves.
Kat's work focuses on identifying and slowing those patterns down.
Rather than searching for quick fixes, she helps clients understand why they respond the way they do, what those responses are trying to accomplish, and how to build new ways of relating that feel more honest, connected, and sustainable.
Her style is warm, collaborative, and direct. Clients often describe feeling deeply understood while also being challenged to think differently about themselves and their relationships.

Thoughtful. Practical. Honest.
Kat integrates several evidence-based models: including the Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, Pragmatic Experiential Therapy for Couples (PET-C), Post Induction Therapy (PIT), and her own Relational Adult Position framework—to tailor therapy to each client's unique needs.
Sessions are intentional and utilize feedback.
You'll likely hear questions such as:
"How did that land for you?"
“What’s your part in this?”
“How can you say that in a way that your partner could receive?”
Therapy isn't about making one person the villian.
It's about building awareness, increasing flexibility, and creating relationships that feel safer, clearly defined, and more authentic.
The person behind the therapist
Long before becoming a therapist, Kat grew up on a rural farm where hard work, adaptability, and caring for neighbors, animals, and the land was simply part of every day life.
Those impactful and practical lessons continue to shape her work today.
Outside the office, you'll likely find her kayaking northern Minnesota lakes, fishing, hunting, ATVing, painting, playing piano, or spending time with her spouse and beloved red fox labrador retriever.
Also, she has her own tractor.
She believes the best therapists learn from reality lessons outside the therapy room—and those experiences help her remain grounded, curious, and fully present with every client she meets.
Leadership
As Founder of Resolute Therapy Group, Kat also serves as a clinical supervisor and mentor for the practice’s therapists. Having experienced mental health care from multiple sides—as a client, therapist, supervisor, and leader—she’s intentional about creating a practice where both clients and clinicians are treated with respect, transparency, and intention.
Before founding Resolute, Kat lead other successful group clinics in the capacity of Executive Director, couple’s clinic supervisor, and intern mentor and supervisor. She has worked in corporate mental health, school based settings, as well as in everyday living rooms with families going through the child protection or adoption system.
All of those experiences shape how she leads today: giving therapists the blend of wholehearted autonomy as well as everyday practical encouragement and support, while keeping thoughtful, relationship-centered staff and client care at the heart of the practice.
